“The power of a smartphone, no matter how advanced, will always fall behind that of a desktop, if merely due to the size and power needs of components.” HP on the convergence of the cloud and the mobile. Words future generations will laugh at.

Apple announced the iPad a couple days ago. $499 for the 16GB WiFi edition. Looks pretty great for media consumption.

Tagged ~100 messages in Thunderbird. An hour later, it crashes. Tag changes in prefs have reset, and newly-tagged messages are again untagged. Apple Mail is looking better and better.

…I’m not sure Apple Mail will be much better. Aside from my work email, I’ve switch to completely GMail setup

Yeah, I just use Thunderbird for work mail, with Gmail for personal stuff. I went back to Thunderbird after trying Mail again, briefly.

The v270? Mine has been the best bluetooth mouse I’ve owned (least lag, quickest wake). I’m thinking about buying the v470 for work, since the 270 is discontinued

I like what little I’ve seen of Android and the T-Mobile G1, but the two-year contract is a major turn off.

You can get it without a contract for the *actual* phone price. It’s a complicated little chunk of plastic and silicon and everyone who buys it gets the option of paying now or paying as part of their contract.

I’m doing some support for a Dell owner. He can’t find his restore discs, so Dell sent me the four original CDs for reinstall, free of charge. Sweet.
